When wedding guests receive their wedding invitations, it can be really frustrating for them to not have all the information needed to make arrangements.
So when you send out your wedding invitations, try to include as much information as possible.
Believe us – no one will ever complain about receiving too much information!
Alternatively, create a wedding website with all the details that can be useful for your guests and put the website address or QR code for them to scan at the bottom of the invitation for more info.
What to include
directions how to get there, GPS location or map
It can be useful if you have many guests traveling from afar, or if your venue is hidden and it’s hard to get to. Also, don’t forget to include the full name and address of your venue(s) for guests to put into their sat nav (on an extra insert or on your main invitation card)
car park availability & TRANSPORT OPTION
Let your guests know in advance if the parking is available at the venue so they can plan accordingly. For those traveling from a distance, you can provide details about the nearest train station or airport. Also, it’s worth mentioning if you’re planning to rent a bus or similar transport between the ceremony and reception venue.
dress code
Mentioning a dress code ensures your wedding stays as formal or as casual as you want, and it’s helpful for your guests to know exactly what is expected of them regarding attire. If there are specific colors you’d prefer guests to steer clear of, feel free to mention it here.
menu information & dietary requirements
If your guests need to pre-order their meals from several options, and there isn’t enough space on the RSVP card or you prefer RSVPs by phone, feel free to include the meal choices on a separate sheet of paper. However, if you’ve planned a set menu for everyone, this step isn’t necessary. Just remember to ask for any special dietary requirements!
hotel recommendations & accommodation discounts
If you’re hosting a destination wedding or a wedding where most of your guests are traveling, it’s a good idea to book your hotel rooms as soon as possible.Providing a list of nearby hotels is very helpful, as well as any possible discount options and how to use them.
gift wish
Help your guests out by including information about your gift registry or wishing well. We’ve got some subtle and polite suggestions to guide you – check them out –>here!
payment options at the bar
Especially if they only accept cash!
children presence
You might decide your wedding is an adults only event, or due to venue capacity, you’re only able to invite children of the bridal party. Let all invited parents know early on so they can plan accordingly. Being clear from the beginning helps avoid any misunderstandings later on! Check out our wording suggestions –> here!
how long the day will last & taxi numbers
Including information about the duration of the wedding day helps your guests to plan their schedules accordingly (like childcare, work commitments etc). Including taxi numbers is useful for booking the transport home earlier, ensuring a safe and available ride for the journey back.
Extra attractions
Necessary, if you want to extend the celebration beyond the wedding in a more relaxed setting. Let your guests know in advance if you want them to join you in the hotel the night before or for breakfast the next morning, or if you’re planning any other special attractions like guided tours of the wedding location, welcome dinner or cocktail party, group activities like hiking, sightseeing, or beach outings etc.
Feel free to pick and choose what you think may be useful for your guests – you don’t need to include everything!
